Summary:

Step 1

Hi there! Glad you made it today!

So...which film did you watch from yesterday's choices?

If you weren't able to see a movie yesterday, then when will you? If it's not possible, post to Publisher, and we'll figure out an alternative for you.

Step 2

In the space provided, list qualities of the main characters that you liked.

If you didn't see the movie yet, then list the qualities you like best in a person you most admire.

Step 3

What jumped out at you about the impact of honest communication and being chill while admitting something difficult?

If you didn't see the movie, then does the person you most admire value honest communication and staying calm while admitting something hard?

Step 4

Here's Drama Buster #2: Ears First. Mouth Second.

Follow the rule to use your ears twice as much as your mouth. It's crucial in escaping drama.

*Seriously...listen. Don’t interrupt.
*Don’t defend yourself.
*Count to 10 if your thoughts start spinning out of control. Breathe. Exhale.
*Simply hear what's being said - words, not emotions, not past experience.
*Respond to let the person know you heard them.

If you try to understand them better, then they're likely to be more willing to listen to you. Respect and trust can't help but grow.

How important is this tip to you?

Step 5

Before we send you out to practice Drama Buster 1 (Be Honest) and 2 (Ears First. Mouth Second.), let's pull up a little more info that can build your confidence.

Make a list of the qualities you have that build up people. Some examples could be:
*Honest
*Trusting
*Kind
*Generous
*Respectful
*Fair
*Patient

Those are just ideas to get you started. Determine what your best qualities are that foster friendship.

Step 6

List traits you would like to improve that usually get in the way when you're trying to resolve a fuss.

These traits could look like:
*Impatient
*Defensive
*Angry
*Blaming
*Sarcastic
*Texting or Checking email while others are speaking to you
*Intimidating
*Avoidance
*Passive
*Dishonest
*Mistrusting
*Manipulative

We SO wish we could say we can't relate to any of these Drama Creators. But, hey, if we couldn't relate, we couldn't have shared what we've learned.

Face it. We all have stuff we have to deal with. We're just saying, 'Let's start.'

Step 7

Here are some common filters:
*Fear - Self protective
*Pride - Don't want to be hurt or embarrassed
*Conflict usually turns out bad for me
*Mistrust - I don't like older men or older women (or fill in the blank) because they've hurt me in the past
*Assumptions - I don't want to trust because people say one thing and do another
*Holding grudges

Think of it this way. You can't be happy if you keep filters that make you see offenses that may or may not exist.

Offenses are a big red flag that you mistrust people and won't let your guard down easily. This blocks happiness. It blocks the ability to love, trust and be objective.

If any of this applies to you, how could a change in viewpoint make your life better? What can you do to start that change?

Be free, my friend. You deserve way more joy than you're currently getting.

Step 8

Before Day 5 (tomorrow), look for an opportunity to begin changing at least one filter from your list. As you do it, keep in mind Drama Buster #1 and #2:

Drama Buster #1
Be honest.

Drama Buster #2
Ears first. Mouth second.

How good are the chances that you'll have an opportunity to change one filter from your list?

Step 9

Best to you in this! Post to Publisher or to your Camps if you need more guidance or encouragement.

Bye for now.
